Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, the "Brocton Blockbuster" went out a winner, becoming the only major prize fighter to remain undefeated throughout his professional career. Heavyweight champion from 1952 to 1956, Marciano fought 49 bouts in nine years and won almost all - 43 - by knockout. While no one could defeat him in the ring, Rocky Marciano died tragically in a plane crash.
